Queensland Explore Centre - Bribie Island

The only island in Queensland accessed directly by road is Bribie Island right here in the Moreton Bay Region and under an hour away from Brisbane. The choice is yours from patrolled surf beaches at Woorim to dog friendly beaches and even the calm safe swimming beaches at Bongaree and Banksia Beach. From thrill seeking adventure with jet ski tours or 4 WD experiences to intimate gondola cruises for 2 or relaxing sunset tours, there is plenty to do on Bribie island for a day, a week or a month. An abundance of wildlife is all around from the shy dugongs and dolphins in the sea to the kangaroos that bask in the afternoon sun and the bird roost at nearby Toorbul. And of course a beach visit is not compete without the local fish and chips.
