Queensland Explore Centre - Tewantin

Parkyn Hut Visitor Information Centre

The Best Visitor Information Centre in Queensland run by Volunteer, Tewantin Explore Centre aka Parkyn Hut operates from this historic gold miners hut, transported from Gympie in 1920 on a Bullock Dray. We are located overlooking the Noosa River in the friendly town of Tewantin. Awarded in 2019 “The Best Visitor Information Centre in Queensland Run by Volunteers” and we still offer that same local volunteer dedication today. Timeless Tewantin, one of the Noosa areas earliest settled towns and is one of its three major centres today. Parkyn Hut is also home to the Tewantin Heritage and Historic Society and a visit inside the Hut reveals many photos and memorabilia of this historic area. Tewantin a regional coastal town is 120km north of central Brisbane, a locality in the Shire of Noosa about 6 km from Noosa Heads.
